The Speculation About Kate Middleton’s Health Forced Royal Family to Clamp Down on PR Messaging

Kate Middleton is the hottest trending topic on social media right now and the royal family isn’t exactly thrilled about the situation. While they understandably want to respect the Princess of Wales’ privacy, the royal fans are demanding more information to make sure she is OK. As the speculation grows, the palace only gets more tight-lipped about the situation — and they are reportedly not going to budge on this topic.

The royal family refuses to veer off-course with its PR messaging even though the conspiracy theories about Kate have turned “toxic,” according to The Daily Beast sources. A pal close to Prince William noted, “If William has read any of this stuff, it will only make him more determined to stick to his guns and keep his wife out of the limelight while she recovers. The stuff people are writing is toxic.”

Just take one look at the terse statement given by Kate’s rep on Thursday, they are not interested in giving anyone more information. “Kensington Palace made it clear in January the timelines of the princess’ recovery and we’d only be providing significant updates,” her rep explained to Page Six. “That guidance stands.” A former palace worker shared with The Daily Beast that the calls from the British tabloids to be more transparent aren’t going to make William or anyone else in the royal family budge on their PR approach.

“Anyone who expects the palace to suddenly start giving lengthy updates on Kate will be disappointed. The principal aim of her being sequestered is to guard her privacy,” they said. “I’m sure the press hate it because it is working. There is a really, really small bubble of people who know exactly what is going on.” The only thing royal fans need to know is that Kate had “planned abdominal surgery,” she was in the hospital for almost two weeks, and now is home recovering with a royal absence through Easter. The palace will have to have a Plan B if Kate’s recovery takes longer than what was initially stated — which is always a possibility.

Insiders close to the royals are hoping the frenzy dissipates soon because they want the Princess of Wales to have a stress-free recovery. “The whole world knows what’s ‘going on’ because they have actually been remarkably open: she had abdominal surgery, it went as planned,” they stated. “It wasn’t cancer, she is keeping to herself until after Easter and she is doing well. ‘Case closed’ in my humble opinion.” Social media users probably won’t slow down with their speculation until they hear more from Kate herself. Until then, the case won’t be closed anytime soon.
